What is a Smart Home

A Smart Home is a home that uses advanced devices to help your household run more efficiently. A Smart Home is equipped with devices that can be controlled remotely, even when the homeowner isn't in the property. Smart Homes incorporate several advanced automation systems that allow you to control the temperature, lighting, security and more.

At ImpraGas, we supply a selection of advanced systems that make your home much smarter! Click here to go to our SmartHome page, or keep reading to learn more about the products we supply.

Nest Protect

It's essential to have a smoke alarm in your home to protect your household in the event of a fire. It's also essential to test your smoke alarm once a month, but this is something that many of us forget to do, potentially putting lives at risk.

The Nest Protect smoke alarm is 'smart' because it is able to test itself, allowing you to rest easy in the knowledge that your smoke alarm is in good working condition. It will also alert you if your battery is running low with a phone notification.

It's an incredibly smart alarm that can detect what the problem is, giving you an early warning. For instance, if you have left something cooking and it starts to give off smoke, your Nest Protect will send you the following message: "Please be aware, there is smoke in the kitchen."

If there is a potential hazard, the alarm will send an alert to all household members' phones, whether they're at the property or not, so you will always be aware of any danger. If it's not a real emergency, you can silence the alarm using your phone, saving you from having to dash on over to the alarm itself.

Nest Thermostat

A Nest Thermostat makes it easy to manage your hot water tanks. If you want a little extra hot water, or to adjust your water schedule, you can use your Nest Thermostat to do so. You can even get your hot water to turn off automatically if you aren't going to be in the house.

Using a smart thermostat in your home will help you to run a more efficient system and can save you money, since you won't be using energy unnecessarily. The Nest Thermostat even gets smarter over time - it learns your household energy usage and lets you know how you could be saving even more money.

The new Boiler Plus legislation will be coming into effect soon - one of the main aims of this law is to give consumers more control over their energy usage, and installing a smart thermostat in your home is a great way to do just that.

Nest Cam

Connecting with your phone, the Nest Cam monitors your property even when you aren't in. Tracking your location using your phone, the cam turns on when you leave the house, keeping a watchful eye over your home until you return.

If the Nest Cam detects anything unexpected, it sends you an alert to let you know. So if there is unexpected movement or noise in your home, you'll be the first to know. The Nest Came can tell the difference between a genuine disturbance and general background noise, so you won't be disturbed just because the neighbour's dog is barking!

However, if it's your pets causing the issue, you can actually use the speech command function to issue instructions to your pets or to let someone know you're aware they are in your home.

You can also opt in for Nest Aware, which allows the cam to record all the footage it sees, allowing you to view anything you've missed.

We've worked so hard to achieve these awards and we can't thank those who support us enough! ImpraGas always has the customers best interests in mind and we aim to provide a 5-star customer experience to all who use our service.

ImpraGas was launched in 2012 by our founder Joseph Valente, winner of the BBC Apprentice 2015. It was created with the aim of changing the public perception of the average 'Gas Man' or 'Salesman' and always putting the customer first. To suit this, all of our packages include everything a customer need to ensure their new boiler is a sound investment, giving them a 10-year peace of mind.

The aim of ImpraGas is to become the UK's leading boiler specialists. Our team dedicates itself to delivering outstanding service, focusing on quality, reliability, honesty, value for money and high-quality workmanship. As we only install boilers and central heating systems, we are now experts in installations and masters of this sector.

Supporting the local community is incredibly important to us at ImpraGas, so we're very pleased to become an award-winning company which can help those around us. Our founder, Joseph Valente recognises the importance of giving back and so we work to help local charities, school engagements and provide young children with an insight as to what the plumbing industry is all about. Joseph himself even attends local schools to speak about apprenticeships, plumbing and how to inspire the young entrepreneurs among us.

Once again, thank you to everyone who supports ImpraGas on our journey. We hope you'll be seeing a lot more of us in the future!

If you'd like a boiler quote from us, you can do so in just a couple of steps here! Or if you'd prefer to speak with a member of our lovely team, you can get in touch on 0333 009 090.

NSPCC Charity

“The NSPCC wants to protect children at risk, to help children who’ve been abused rebuild their lives, and to find the best ways to prevent child abuse from happening in the first place. That’s why we’ve chosen the NSPCC to be the ImpraGas Charity of the Year 2018.”

Joseph Valente, Managing Director

At ImpraGas, we share the NSPCC's belief that all children should be kept safe. Throughout 2018, Joseph Valente and the team at ImpraGas will be supporting the NSPCC to help raise awareness and funds which are vital to keeping children and young people safe across the UK.

We at ImpraGas also value the importance of happy families. We believe that children and happy families are the key to a loving home. Impra is a part of people's daily lives - your boiler is at the heart of your home, and we hope we can be an addition to the happiness each household should experience.

How are we supporting the NSPCC this year?

Joseph Valente has provided a number of motivational talks across schools in the UK. Having been expelled from school when he was only 15, Joseph empathises with the work NSPCC does to support the children and young people who are struggling. That's why this year we have made NSPCC our Charity of the Year and will do what we can to help their cause.

  • We will continue to donate to NSPCC Childline and the Speak Out Stay Safe campaign.
  • Organising various staff fundraising opportunities including the Three Peaks Challenge, Skydiving, the Rutland Family Bike Ride and even just humble cake sales!
  • The ImpraGas team have recently signed up to the NSPCC campaign which supports children's mental health and encourages the Government to provide more funds for Childline. Sign the petition.
  • Continuing to utilise our social media to raise awareness of these campaigns.
  • Joseph will continue to visit schools and help raise awareness and support children who need it most.

We hope that you will help us support the NSPCC this year and donate to our JustGiving page. The NSPCC works tirelessly to prevent child abuse and help those who have suffered rebuild their lives. Please help us help them to continue to protect children who are at risk.

Gas Safe Registered

In order to work as a gas engineer, you must - by law - be Gas Safe Registered. The Gas Safe Register is an official list of gas businesses and individuals who are registered to legally work on boilers, cookers, and other gas appliances. It was brought in to replace CORGI in 2009.

The Register was put in place to protect the public from unsafe gas work and unqualified engineers. In order to join the Register, you must provide evidence of your competence in gas engineering; if an unregistered business or individual attempts to carry out gas work, they may be prosecuted for breaking the law and putting people's safety at risk.

How do you become Gas Safe Registered?

In order to get on the Register, you must first provide evidence of your industry-recognised qualifications. To see a list of accepted qualifications, visit the Gas Safe Register website.

Registration lasts for one year, so engineers and installers must renew their registration annually in order to stay on the Gas Safe Register.

Our Gas Safe Engineers

Here at ImpraGas, we work hard to be a company that customers can trust - we want you to feel completely safe in your home, and so we ensure that all of our installers and service personnel meet the very highest industry standards.

All ImpraGas engineers have trained extensively, earned industry-recognised qualifications, and successfully joined the Gas Safe Register. Our Gas Safe Registration number is 542826.

Look for the ID!

When our engineers arrive to install or service your boiler, they will be wearing ID (including the Gas Safe badge) as part of their uniform. This lets you know that the people working in your home are trustworthy professionals who know what they're doing.

"You should always feel free to ask to see your gas engineer's ID before allowing them to start work. We will only ever allow qualified employees to enter your home - if there's no ID on display, it's not ImpraGas!"

Joseph Valente, Managing Director
